Why a sun hoodie?
Electra is a small venture studio working where clean energy meets working land. Our first project, Farm Solar Fit, helps farmers and ranchers see whether solar fits their property, and on what terms.
Electra wants farmers to keep their land and keep farming, and agrivoltaics is a win-win-win for farmers, energy, and healthy land. Our co-founder Heather’s first solar painting, Winnie, showed that people love a happy farm. The hoodies carry that picture into fields, markets, rides, and industry events, because we have to fall in love with the future before we can build it, and the first step is being able to see it.
Sheep grazing in the array aisles, cattle in the shade of the panels, wildflowers and bees between the rows. More scenes are on the way.
Planet Positive puts that art on gear people already need. A UPF 50 sun hoodie protects you through long days outside. Solar does the same for a farm: shade, shelter, and a second source of income for land that is already growing our food.
What we're building
Electra is a venture studio, and Farm Solar Fit is our first venture: a decision tool that shows farmers and ranchers their solar options.
Planet Positive sun hoodies are our first product line, and they pay for early work like this.
